Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to repair, diagnostic, maintenance and related services supplied by Smart Fix Plus Ltd (“Smart Fix Plus”, “we”, “us” or “our”). They are intended to explain the basis on which we accept devices and provide services. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

1. Business Details

Smart Fix Plus Ltd 454 Kingsland Road, London, E8 4AE, United Kingdom Telephone: 07774 406050 Website: smartfixplus.co.uk

2. Repair Bookings and Quotations

A quotation is based on the information available at the time it is given. A device may have additional or hidden faults that cannot reasonably be identified until it is opened, tested or diagnosed. If additional chargeable work is required, we will normally seek your approval before carrying it out.

Online, telephone or message-based prices may be estimates where the device has not yet been physically inspected. The final price may depend on the exact model, condition, parts selected and faults found.

3. Diagnostics

Some faults require diagnostic work before a repair can be confirmed. Where a diagnostic fee applies, we will tell you before chargeable diagnostic work is carried out. A customer is not obliged to proceed with additional repair work after receiving a diagnosis, although any diagnostic fee already agreed may remain payable.

4. Replacement Parts

Depending on the device and repair, we may offer genuine manufacturer parts, premium aftermarket parts or budget aftermarket parts. We will explain available options where relevant. Replacement parts can differ in display quality, brightness, colour reproduction, durability, power consumption, fit, software recognition and price.

Certain devices may display software messages about replaced parts, or certain functions may depend on manufacturer calibration, pairing or original components. Where we are aware of a material limitation relating to the selected repair option, we will explain it where reasonably practicable.

5. Customer Data and Backups

Most hardware repairs do not intentionally erase customer data. However, data loss can occur as a result of pre-existing damage, storage failure, liquid damage, motherboard faults, software corruption, manufacturer procedures or the repair process. Customers should back up important data before repair whenever possible.

Unless we have specifically agreed to provide a data recovery or transfer service, Smart Fix Plus is not responsible for maintaining a backup of customer data. Our liability for data loss is subject to applicable law and cannot exclude liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

6. Device Passcodes and Testing

We may ask for a device passcode where access is reasonably required to diagnose or test functions such as the display, touchscreen, cameras, speakers, microphones, charging, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or mobile network. We do not access personal content unnecessarily. If a passcode is not provided, our ability to fully test the device may be limited.

7. Liquid-Damaged and Severely Damaged Devices

Liquid damage can affect multiple components and corrosion may continue after the original exposure. Diagnosis or repair of a liquid-damaged device does not guarantee that every affected component can be identified immediately or that the device will remain operational indefinitely. Additional faults may become apparent during or after repair.

Opening, cleaning or testing a severely damaged device may expose pre-existing weakness or damage. We will take reasonable care, but the inherent condition of such devices may limit what can safely be repaired or tested.

8. Repair Times

Any repair time given is an estimate unless we expressly agree otherwise. Completion may be affected by part availability, diagnostic findings, supplier delays, device condition, manufacturer procedures or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

9. Payment and Collection

Payment is due in accordance with the price agreed for the completed service. Devices should be collected promptly after we notify you that they are ready. We may request the job number, proof of identity or other reasonable confirmation before releasing a device, particularly where somebody other than the original customer collects it.

10. Repair Warranty

Eligible repairs may include a limited Smart Fix Plus repair warranty. The applicable period and coverage depend on the repair and part supplied and may be stated on the repair record or receipt. The voluntary repair warranty is in addition to, and does not replace, your statutory consumer rights.

A repair warranty generally applies to qualifying defects in the replacement part supplied or the workmanship relating to the original repair. We may need to inspect and test the device before determining whether a reported issue is covered.

11. Warranty Exclusions

Unless required otherwise by law, our voluntary repair warranty does not cover subsequent accidental or physical damage, cracked or broken components, liquid damage occurring after repair, misuse, unauthorised modification, new or unrelated faults, or damage caused after another repairer or third party has opened or worked on the device. Coverage may also be affected where the reported problem is unrelated to the original repaired fault.

12. Unrepairable or Cancelled Repairs

If a device cannot be repaired economically or safely, or if the customer decides not to proceed after diagnosis, the repair may be marked unrepairable or cancelled. Any charges already agreed for diagnostics, parts specially ordered, or completed work may still be payable where applicable and lawful.

13. Pre-Existing Damage

Devices may arrive with cracks, dents, corrosion, missing parts, previous repairs, weakened seals, damaged housings or other pre-existing issues. We may record the condition of a device at intake. We are not responsible for pre-existing faults or damage that is unrelated to our work.

14. Water Resistance

Opening a device can affect factory water- or dust-resistance. Even where replacement seals are fitted, we cannot guarantee that a repaired device will retain the manufacturer’s original water-resistance rating. Customers should treat repaired devices as not guaranteed to be water resistant.

15. Uncollected Devices

We will make reasonable efforts to contact customers when a device is ready. If a device remains uncollected for an extended period, we may contact the customer again and take reasonable steps permitted by law in relation to storage or disposal. We will not treat a device as abandoned without appropriate notice and regard to applicable legal requirements.

16. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights that cannot legally be excluded. Subject to those protections, Smart Fix Plus is responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

17. Privacy

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Where we use third-party communication services such as WhatsApp, relevant information may also be processed by those providers under their own terms and privacy policies.

18. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to a service will be the version in force when the relevant booking or agreement is made, unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed with you.

19. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in England and Wales. Customers retain any mandatory rights relating to the courts or jurisdiction that apply under consumer law.
